The Wemby-Chet Beef Heats Up
The NBA world is buzzing with the emerging rivalry between Victor Wembanyama and Chet Holmgren. Chicagojk dropped some tea on the MavsBoard forum:
“Wemby hates Chet. I was listening to a podcast a few weeks ago and Windhorst was talking about this as he spent a lot of time with Wemby pre-draft. Supposedly Wemby’s mom hates Chet too. Chet really rubbed it in at the game where he won MVP with Team USA and Wemby never forgot it.”
The drama unfolded in a game where Wemby dominated Chet, only to foul out on a questionable call. The US team won, but Chet took home the MVP award with a paltry 10pts/2reb/5ast statline. dirkfansince1998 gave us the play-by-play.
SGA’s Slump Continues
The Oklahoma City Thunder are in trouble, and HoosierDaddyKid isn’t impressed with SGA’s performance:
“Something is amiss with SGA’s game in these playoffs. His shot is off, and he’s not as efficient as he normally is. I’d say tonight is a must-win game for OKC.”

“Lakers started it. Spurs copied it. SGA is getting blitzed a lot. Spurs are willing to overload and help/shadow one pass away. SGA doesn’t have the passing vision of a prime LBJ/Luka/Jokic.”

“Stephon Castle now has the most turnovers over any 2-game stretch in NBA postseason history. 19 turnovers (!!!)”

“Castle is just being asked to do too much with Fox and now Harper hurt not to mention the minutes he’s playing. Averaging 10 turnovers is rough, but this is only his second year.”

As a Mavs fan, I’m thrilled to see OKC struggling. Unknown joked:
“It feels icky as a Mavs fan to root for San Antonio, but…I hope OKC gets swept, personally. That would make me so freaking happy.”
