The Spurs’ Victor Wembanyama is taking the league by storm, and dirkfansince1998 isn’t surprised: “Wolves simply cannot score in the paint when Wemby is on the floor. Tried everything. Even benched Gobert to close out the game.”
“If choosing between the two [Wemby and Dereck Lively], give me the guy who can MOVE. But, the Mavs have someone who’s both - Lively. And that’s why you don’t give up on him until you absolutely have no other choice.” - Unknown
Wemby’s insane stats are making fans and haters alike take notice. In a recent game, he put up 39 points, 15 rebounds, and 5 blocks, leading the Spurs to a 115-108 win. HoosierDaddyKid compared him to another highly touted prospect, Cam Whitmore, saying:
“I really don’t see how they compare to be truthful. I don’t adhere to the notion that Flagg is better all-around. They say the NBA has become a ‘positionless league,’ but one is a 7’5 do-everything Center, and the other is a 6’8 SF/PF with a similar skill set.”
Harden’s Struggles Continue
James Harden’s playoff woes are nothing new, but his recent performance has been particularly underwhelming. Chicagojk highlighted his struggles: “I did not watch the DET vs Clev game, but it looks like another Harden stinker. The 3-13 shooting game. Seems like those happen all the time in the playoffs.”
HoosierDaddyKid chimed in with some damning stats:

Mavs Musings
The Mavs’ own playoff hopes may be dashed, but fans are still excited about their young core. Chicagojk noted that Luka Doncic is still dominating:
“I saw a graphic yesterday on SportsCenter with the fastest players with the most playoff points in their first 50 games with their teams. Luka was 2, I believe.”
Meanwhile, F Gump had some harsh words for the team’s center situation:
“I like the idea of Lively, the theory. But the Mavs don’t really have Lively. They just have some theoretical player. Sad to say, the Oden comp is a good one.”
Coaching Conundrums
The NBA coaching carousel is always spinning, and this offseason is no exception. Unknown dropped a bombshell:
“In other news…seems like a decent chance Nick Nurse might be available soon. Just sayin’.”
Overrated Players
In a recent poll, NBA players voted on the most overrated player in the league. The results were interesting, to say the least:

As the playoffs heat up, Mavs fans will be watching from home, wondering what could’ve been. One thing’s for sure: Wemby is the real deal, and the league better be ready for him. And hey, maybe the Mavs can snag a top coach or two to help them contend next season. A guy can dream, right?
