The King Still Reigns
The NBA playoffs are in full swing, and dirkfansince1998 is giving LeBron James some well-deserved props. Despite being in his early 40s (okay, maybe not that early, but still), LeBron is dominating the playoffs like it’s his 20s all over again.
“Nope. At the same age Kareem averaged 11ppg in the playoffs. Don’t have to like him but in the end you have to acknowledge greatness. He is doing things that someone in his early 40s shouldn’t be able to do.”
Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, the all-time leading scorer in NBA history, averaged 11 points per game in the playoffs at a similar age. Meanwhile, LeBron is carrying his team to victories with his incredible performances. The Bronny-Lebron sequence in the second quarter was particularly impressive, with Bronny hitting a pull-up three after his dad set a screen for him, followed by a lob pass from LeBron.
Ayo Dosunmu’s Emergence
The Chicago Bulls might have a gem on their hands with Ayo Dosunmu. Mavs03 thinks he’d be a great signing for the Mavs in the offseason, and it’s hard to argue. Dosunmu’s been on fire lately, averaging 34 points on 72% from the field, 63% from 3, and 94% from the FT line over his last two games.
“Would anyone be interested in signing Ayo Dosunmu in the offseason? What a performance by him particularly with Edwards and Divincenzo having to leave today’s playoff game early.”
KD, KD, KD
It seems like Kevin Durant’s injury issues are causing some concern. Chicagojk noticed that KD wasn’t on the bench for his team, and DanSchwartzgan wondered if he’d be interested in joining the Timberwolves.
“KD wasn’t with the team? I saw a Bill Simmons quote mentioning this. Was he even in the arena? Getting treatment? I am sorry…game three in a must win he needs to be on the bench as the best player on the team.”
Injury Bug
Injuries are piling up around the league, and it’s getting ugly. cow reported that Donte DiVincenzo suffered a torn Achilles, which is just brutal.
“Divincenzo with an Achilles tear. Sucks. It really feels like we’ve seen a huge uptick in this injury of late, but at least it’s less of a career ender than in the past.”
Wolves and Nuggets
The Minnesota Timberwolves just blew out the Denver Nuggets 113-96, with Nikola Jokic having one of the worst games of his career. HoosierDaddyKid had the play-by-play.
“Wolves blow out the Nuggets, 113-96. Joker has one of the worst games I can remember from him. 7-26 from the field, 2-10 from 3.”
Mavs Rumblings
The Mavs might be looking to shake things up in the front office. Unknown thinks that Mark Cuban’s relationship with the current regime might affect their ability to lure in top talent.
Wemby’s Scary Fall
The Spurs’ Victor Wembanyama took a scary fall during a game, and michaeltex was worried sick.
“That was a hell of a blow Wemby took from the floor. Made my head hurt just watching it. Face first and didn’t even get a chance to break his fall.”
As the playoffs heat up, one thing’s for sure: it’s going to be a wild ride. Will LeBron continue to defy Father Time? Can the Timberwolves keep their momentum going? And what’s next for the Mavs? Stay tuned, folks!
