Playoff Upsets and Surprises
The playoffs have been full of surprises so far, and HoosierDaddyKid is calling out the haters for sleeping on the Detroit Pistons.
“I find it very odd when talking about what team will come out the East, nobody thinks Detroit will. It’s either Boston, NY, or Cleveland. Detroit has led the East from wire to wire, suffered through suspensions and Cade’s injury and still was 1st across the finish line.”
The Pistons’ strong defense and inside play have carried them to the top of the East, and HoosierDaddyKid isn’t afraid to remind everyone that they’ve been doing it without Cade Cunningham. Meanwhile, the Orlando Magic are making a statement, with Scott41theMavs noting that their win over Charlotte was more than just a fluke.
“Orlando beating Charlotte is not a huge surprise. Orlando beating the poop out of Charlotte is. I’m sure that LaMelo finding out that people abhor basketball players who act like it’s the WWE and they’re heels played a part in his rather woeful game.”
Bull Rumors and Front Office Moves
The Chicago Bulls are on the hunt for a new head of basketball operations, and Unknown has the scoop on the potential candidates.
“The Chicago Bulls have started the search process for their new head of basketball operations, receiving permission to interview Minnesota’s Matt Lloyd, Detroit’s Dennis Lindsey, Atlanta’s Bryson Graham, Cleveland’s Mike Gansey and San Antonio’s Dave Telep, per ESPN sources.”
Mavs2021 thinks the Mavs have the edge in landing Lindsey, thanks to Flagg. And FireNicoHarrison isn’t impressed with Kon’s chances.
“Kon is a bluff. Mediocre player, no where close to Flagg.”
Kyrie Drama and Trade Rumors
Kyrie Irving’s name is always in the news, and loki thinks that if he asks for a trade, it won’t be to a team like Orlando.
“Disgruntled Kyrie has negative trade value. I don’t see a team dealing for him unless they know with 100% certainty that he’s on board. He’s behaved himself with the Mavs, but teams haven’t forgotten what happened in Brooklyn.”
And Unknown wonders if Kyrie’s potential trade could be linked to his desire to join a contender.
Playoff Takeaways and Predictions
The playoffs are still young, but Chicagojk thinks the first round games have been pretty uneventful so far.
“Play in games were great, but the first round games so far have been pretty uneventful. Just game 1’s though.”
Meanwhile, Dahlsim is loving the Warriors’ chances with a healthy lineup. As for the Mavs, we’ll just have to wait and see how things shake out. One thing’s for sure: it’s going to be an interesting offseason.
And finally, JamesConway816 has some advice for teams looking to make a move:
“They don’t need to dump him but I agree that he has to be made available. If there is a way to acquire another good pick you have to do it.”
The playoffs are just getting started, and we’re already seeing some major upsets and surprises. Who will come out on top? Only time will tell.
