“I think we all agree on Gafford, but not on other player’s values. I wish people would recognize that Risacher is, um, not good.”

3. Lively Insurance

With Dereck Lively’s injury concerns, fans are discussing potential insurance policies. mvossman likes the idea of a cheaper option:

“I would rather go cheaper for a Lively insurance plan.”

loki suggests exploring free agency:

“Even if you just traded a 2nd for a guy like Goga (since Orlando’s roster is getting expensive and Mo Wagner needs a new deal) I don’t think the drop off in production would be that meaningful.”

4. PJ Washington’s Trade Value

PJ Washington’s role and trade value are also being debated. RoyTarpleysGhost thinks he’s holding people back:

“PJ might be holding people back.”

5. Young Guns

Some fans are excited about young players who could break out next season. RasheedsBigWhiteSpot mentions:

“My lil’ darlings that I think can blow up once they develop: Joan Beringer, Asparagus Jakucionis (It autocorrected from Kasparas lol), Collin Murray Boyles, Isaiah Collier — backup to George, Jayson Tyson.”

6. Trade Targets

The Mavs are looking to bolster their roster. mvossman would like to see someone like Moody or Eason:

“My ideal would be somebody like Moody or maybe Eason.”

loki suggests targeting Ron Holland:

“Ron Holland deserves a mention here. The shot still needs work, but he’s a monster defensively. Could target him in a PJ trade this offseason.”

As the offseason heats up, Mavs fans will be keeping a close eye on these discussions and proposals. One thing’s for sure: the Mavs have a lot of potential and a lot of work to do. Will they make a splashy trade or build from within? Only time will tell.
