MavsBoard Roundup: Lottery Odds, Celtics’ Dominance, and LeBron’s Legacy

The NBA world is buzzing, and Mavs fans are no exception. From lottery odds to Celtics’ dominance, we’ve got the latest scoop.

Cooper Flagg and the Lottery

The Pacers have secured a bottom-three record, giving them the best lottery odds to land the number 1 pick. And, oh boy, do they need it. As RasheedsBigWhiteSpot joked, “You wanna talk scary? Can you imagine if the Spurs had landed #1??? They could’ve sported a lineup of Fox, Castle, Flagg and Wemby. They could’ve played your 85 year old Aunt Sylvia at SF and still won 10 straight championships.”

But, as loki noted, “I hate that they’re making me root for the Clippers. Fingers crossed that pick falls to #5.” Mavs fans are keeping their fingers crossed that Cooper Flagg lands in Dallas.

Celtics’ Dominance

The Celtics are on a roll, and Chicagojk thinks they’re the clear favorite to come out of the East: “Boston looks primed to be the favorite to come out of the east. What a freakin amazing season from them. Even in a weakened east, I never thought they would be where they are now. Now they have Tatum back!”

LeBron’s Legacy

LeBron James just became the first non-point guard to reach 12,000 assists. As HoosierDaddyKid pointed out, “LBJ becomes the first non-point guard to reach 12,000 assists.” That’s some crazy all-around skills right there.

NBA News and Gossip

The Lakers are dealing with injuries, and their season might end in a whimper. Chicagojk noted, “The lakers on the other hand look set at 4 or 5, with a ton of injury questions. Now after an awesome march, Laker fans are wondering if the season will end in another whimper and early first round exit again.”

Meanwhile, Joel Embiid is having a tough time, and HoosierDaddyKid tweeted, “When it rains, it pours for Embiid..”

Mavs Fans React

Mavs fans are still reeling from the AD disaster. As Knutsen noted, “And then imagine for a second Coop wasn’t ours - would there be any hope left for the next 10 years being a Mavs fan after seeing how the AD disaster ended?”

But ballsrchr remains optimistic: “Ah man. I don’t have to imagine 10 years of Mavs mediocrity (or worse). I’m still here. The problem is—I may not have 10 years left. So Cooper Flagg, the new GM, and the team they will build now is my last hurrah. They’ve got to get it right this time.”

What’s Next?

The NBA season is winding down, and the playoffs are just around the corner. Will the Celtics continue their dominance? Can the Lakers turn it around? And, most importantly, will Cooper Flagg land in Dallas?

“It’s pretty sad that I 100% feel like the Lakers and Redick are telling the truth in this situation.” - Unknown

One thing’s for sure: Mavs fans are excited for the future. As RasheedsBigWhiteSpot joked, “The fact that the Mavs were the worst professional sports team of the decade wasn’t what was bad. It was that the picks and talent that fans suffered to get were horrifically mismanaged.”
